The first battle: ROAD, LAKE, and DUNE
I actually felt pretty good for this one. I ran 21:36, and last year I ran 22:48, so there was a pretty large improvement. I felt like I ran the race at a good pace, although I think I could have ran the sand dunes faster. I don't think I was too extremely tired at the end. I think the sand always gets me here. Anyway, it was a good start to the season. Brad and Henry went pretty darn fast, and that's good. I think that's just a statement for the team. I'm looking forward to running on a faster course, definitely, mainly because of the sand. It was pretty cool to see Asa Acuna from Myrtle Point, who was in my tent at Steens. Also had a good battle with Mike Lowry from South Umpqua at the end. Hopefully next meet will bring a bigger team challenge....we're going to have a pretty good jv team this year, way better than any other I've been on.
